How to Prepare for a Garage or Shed Cleanout

A little prep before a cleanout crew shows up can make a real difference in how smoothly — and how affordably — the job goes.

Before we arrive

• Pull anything you want to keep out of the pile, even if it's still sitting in the space — clear separation avoids confusion once we start loading.
• Clear a path if possible, especially for narrow shed doors or tight garage corners.
• Note anything fragile, sentimental, or easy to overlook, and mention it upfront.

What you don't need to do

You don't need to haul anything to the curb yourself, break things down, or organize it into neat piles. We're set up to pull straight from wherever it's sitting — shelves, corners, stacked boxes, whatever the situation actually is.

Questions to think through beforehand

1. Is everything in the space going, or just part of it?
2. Is there anything hazardous — old paint, chemicals, propane — that needs to be flagged?
3. Do you want anything donated instead of hauled straight to disposal?
