Nationally, junk removal runs anywhere from $75 for a single item to $800+ for a full truckload, and Tampa Bay pricing tracks pretty close to that. Most homeowners here end up somewhere between $150 and $400 for a typical job — a garage cleanout, a few pieces of furniture, an old appliance or two.
Here's the honest answer nobody wants to give you: there's no single flat rate, because two jobs that look similar on the phone can be totally different once we see them. What actually moves the number:
What drives the price up or down
- Volume. This is the big one. Most companies, us included, price by how much space your stuff takes up in the truck — an eighth of a load costs a lot less than a full one.
- Item type. A couch and a mattress take up similar space but cost different amounts to dispose of responsibly. Appliances with refrigerant, tires, and anything hazardous usually carry a disposal surcharge.
- Access. Curbside pickup is cheapest. Third-floor walk-ups or long carries from a backyard cost more because they take more labor time.
- Weight. Concrete, dirt, and roofing debris are cheap on space but expensive on weight — landfill tipping fees are based on tonnage, not truck space.
Why we don't quote sight-unseen over the phone
A lot of companies will throw out a number on the phone just to get you to book, then "discover" the job is bigger once they show up. That's how people end up feeling ambushed by a final bill. We do it differently — text us a few photos of what needs to go, and we'll size it up and text back a real number before we ever load the truck.
How to get the most accurate quote
- Take photos from a few angles, including anything tucked in corners or stacked behind other items.
- Mention if anything needs to come from upstairs, a shed, or somewhere with limited access.
- Flag anything unusual — old paint, a hot tub, construction debris — since those sometimes have different disposal requirements.
That's usually enough for us to give you a number you can trust, not a lowball that turns into a surprise.
